Statement:

I have always been fascinated with science fiction novels and film.   These seemingly innocent narratives have time and again proven fertile ground for making true our greatest dreams and desires in what is technologically and psychologically possible.   Yet these initial narratives are incredibly vague considering their cultural power.   Take, for instance, the usual arrangement of zapping and beeping instruments seen in the canonized "inventor's laboratory".   In the stages between instigation of idea and eventual fabrication exists a representation of discovery central to human evolution.   A New Breed is an attempt to insert my own narrative into the matrix of scientific fantasy.
